Lynda June Cox

Lynda June (Bill) Cox went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 26, 2023. She was born on November 25, 1947, to Donald R. and Winifred M. Bill in St. Louis. Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, brother Glenn, and nephew Patrick.

Lynda was a member of Ascend Church, Olathe, KS. She found her calling and passion in teaching. She taught at Belton High School for 30 years and then taught 1st grade for 16 years at Heritage Christian Academy, Overland Park. Lynda and Jim traveled to over 24 countries and spent their summers in Breckenridge. Lynda enjoyed snow skiing, biking, hiking, and climbing peaks with niece Tillie.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 38 years, Jim; brothers, Keith and wife Vicki, Wayne and wife Betty, Lloyd and wife Karen, and Scott; brother-in-law, Bud and wife Anne. She also leaves nieces and nephews whom she adored: Terri and husband Herm, Lisa, Randy, Cameron and wife Molly, Sara and husband Randy, Julia and husband Zac, Alyson and husband Joe, Stessie and husband Brian, Nathan and wife Jessi, Audrey and husband Justin, Tillie and husband Pat, Calvin, Jim and wife Shari, Kathy, and Kory and husband Dave. She felt so blessed for all her 31 “greats” that brought her much joy.

Lynda also leaves many cherished friends including her close Sigma Kappa group, her Bible Study sisters, her colleagues, and “bestie” Nancy Chop.
