Marcella Ann Muehlebach, 87, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on June 2, 2022, atKansas City Hospice House. Marcella was born March 14, 1935 to John and JosephineHiggins in St. Louis, Missouri. On June 29th, 1957, Marcella married Dr. George Muehlebach.They were married 48 years before his passing in 2005.
After her mother passed away when Marcella was 14, her father remarried and brought"Grandma Bertie" into their home. Marcella had three brothers, John (Bea), Harvey (Vi) and Tim(Jane). She is survived by Vi and Jane. She also was blessed with family from theMuehlebachs, William (Esther), Barbara Paradise (Al), Larry (Jane) and Chuck (Gen). Marcellarepresented the last of this great generation.
Marcella was the mother of eight children: Lisa Dunleavy (Steve), Paul (Sandra), Greg (Vicki),Kurt (Julie), Matt (Amy), Ann Crist (Frank), Barbara Cusick (John) and Kristen Shaffer (Jon).And an awesome Marcie Mom to: Erin, Meghan, Riley, Madison, Chloe, Peter, Audrey, Molly,Will, Sam, Forrest, Mary Claire, Lily, Natalie, Bea, Margaret, Jack, George, Henry, Ella and Reid.If you knew these statistics, you knew her garage code. Also, there are currently seven greatgrand children: Arthur, Edward, Alice, Georgia, Marcella, Maverick, Mila and Baby Muehlebachdue this July.
Marcella attended Incarnate Word Academy and St. Johns Nursing School in St. Louis. In herearly fifties Marcella made the decision to enroll in a re-entry program at Avila to return tonursing. From here she spent nearly 20 years as a dedicated Mother/Baby care nurse at St.Lukes Hospital.
As if raising eight children and being a nurse didnt keep her busy enough, Marcella alsodecorated cakes for family events, invited all to Sunday Supper, never forgot a birthday oranniversary and was quick to find ways to correct any and all grammatical errors. She enjoyedbridge and dominos, a good baseball game and keeping up with her much loved girlfriends.Her sense of humor and wit were renowned. If she pranked you, she loved you.
The rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm Tuesday, June 7th, at St.Thomas More Catholic Church,11822 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131, followed by Visitation until 8:00 pm. Massof Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 8, at the church. Internment willbe at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to St. ThomasMore Church or Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri64145.
