Margaret 'Peggy' Hanson

Margaret D. "Peggy" Hanson, 86, passed away March 11, 2015. The rosary will be prayed 4:00 pm Sunday, March 15th at St. John Francis Regis Parish, 8941 James A Reed Road, Kansas City, MO 64138 followed by visitation until 7:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Monday at the Church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to St. John Francis Regis Parish.

Peggy was born August 30, 1928 in Earling, IA to Joseph and Mary Rose Langenfeld. She and her husband Harold were founding members of St. John Francis Regis Parish 50 years ago. She was a paraprofessional at the school for many years, also assisting with the children?s music program, and she remained active at the parish. Peggy then worked at Avila University day care until retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers; 3 sisters, and a grandson, Thomas Riley. Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Harold Hanson; children, James G. and wife Shelly, Phillip J. and wife Nancy, Maureen A. Riley and husband Michael, Patrick A. Hanson; grandchildren, Courtney, Aaron, Tiffany, Nick, Sean, Mark, Conor, John, Colleen, Katie, Cory and Cole; 3 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
