Marge Bono

June 9, 1934 — February 15, 2017

Marge Bono passed away peacefully on February 15th following complications from Leukemia. Surrounded by her children, she left her home and joined the Lord, to whom she was so faithfully devoted as a Daily Communicant and advocate of The Divine Mercy. Marge was born in Chicago, IL in 1934. She met the love of her life, Nick Bono, while attending Quincy University. Their Love was bonded in Marriage in 1955 in Chicago, IL. Marge was a "magnet" to her many friends and casual acquaintances. She was a founding member of the local parishes of St. Thomas More (KCMO), Church of the Nativity, and St. Michael the Archangel (Leawood), where she was humbly honored as Servant Leader of the Year in 2014. She was a member of the Ladies of Charity and St. Jude Mission. Marge was a 3rd grade teacher at Christ the King in KCMO for 4 years then became a wonderful homemaker for her family. She is survived by Nick, her husband of 62 yrs. Together they had four children, Nick (Amy), Janet Adkins (Kipp), Teresa Maher (Jim), and Mike. She was "Mimi" to 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at St. Michael the Archangel (Leawood) on Monday, February 20, at 9:00 am; followed by Rosary and funeral Mass beginning at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, Marge would be pleased with donations to: EWTN, 5817 Old Reeds Rd., Irondale, AL 35210; Sister Servants of Mercy, 800 N 18th St., Kansas City, KS 66102; or Seton Center, 2816 E 23rd St., Kansas City. MO 64127. Marge "Mimi" will continue to be an incredible, lasting example to her children and grandchildren on how to live The "Little Way" with faith and humility.
