Marjorie Gentry Dryer

Marjorie "Marge" Gentry Dryer passed away peacefully of natural causes on the morning of Thursday, January 9. Marge was 101 years old.
Marge was born near Dwight, Kansas on September 13, 1918. She was born to Hiram and Lucy Rader. Marge had two sisters, Mildred and Wilma Jean, and one brother, Ralph. She grew up on the farm, always working hard to help provide for her family. In 1938, Marge moved from the farm to Kansas City. Here she got her secretarial degree from business college. She worked at Stowe Hardware. Marge worked hard to pay for her rent and gain an education.
Marge met her first husband during World War II. In 1946, Marjorie married Churchill Harold (C.H.) Gentry, to whom she was married for twenty-six years before his death in 1972. They had three children together, Allen Mitchell, Gary Wayne, and Donald Ray. In 1979, Marge married RC Dryer to whom she was married for 5 years before his death in 1984. She had been a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker.
Marge has been a member of Blue Ridge Boulevard Christian Church since December 1953; was active in PTA; Young Married Couples Christian fellowship at church; and with the Boy Scouts of Americas Troop 267 serving in various support positions.
Marges hobbies include sewing, quilting, gardening, fishing, being a fan of the Kansas City Royals, and church. Marge loved spending time at Lake Pomme de Terre with her family. She spent countless hours teaching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren how to work hard and to be mindful of your time.
Marjorie was preceded in death by parents Hiram and Lucy, siblings Ralph, Mildred, and Wilma Jean, husband C.H., sons Allen and Gary, and husband RC.
Marjorie is survived by son Donald and his wife Jackie, grandchildren Shawn Mitchell, Craig Allen, Stephen Robert, Christopher Michael, Lola Marie, Sara Lucille, Dona Sue, George Henry, and Gary Ray. 13 great grand-children, and 6 great-great grand-children.
Services will be held Monday, January 13 at Muehlebach Funeral Care. Visitation will be from 10 am 12 pm, funeral services at 12 pm, and a gravesite service following.
