Marquis Michael Merys

Marquis (Mike) Merys was born on July 19, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri and went home to be with his Savior on February 1, 2024. He was a man who wore many hats; a dedicated father, beloved grandfather, faithful friend, dog aficionado and much more. He thrived on community and family, bringing many into the fold. If you were in need of wisdom, help, or just a good conversation over a pipe and a “sniffer” of whiskey, he was there.  The chasm left in our hearts by his absence is deep, but those he left behind cling to a legacy of faith, loyalty, family and an appreciation for all the uniqueness this world has to offer.

He was preceded in death by his parents Geno and Mildred Merys and his late wife Jill.

He is survived by his son, Marquis Vincent Merys, daughter in law, Margaret Beth Merys, daughter Gina Merys, his  beloved girlfriend of fifteen years, Babs Stevenson, twenty-six grandchildren and many more “adopted” sons and daughters.
