Martha E. Donahue

Martha E. Donahue, 75 years old, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017. A Visitation will be held for Martha at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8510 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64114, from 9:00am to 10:00am on Friday, January 27th, with the Rosary prayed at 9:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00am, with the Graveside Service following at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64138.
Martha was born on April 26, 1941 in Kansas City, MO, to Fred Harold Bixler and Martha G. (Bleier) Bixler. She graduated from St. Teresas Academy and later completed some college courses. Martha worked at Folgers Coffee Company, Boone School, and briefly for the IRS, but ended up retiring from the Department of Agriculture in 2003 with 20 years dedicated to them. It was at the Folgers Coffee Company where she met the love of her life, John Donahue. They spent many happy, loving years together before his passing in 1998. Martha enjoyed baking, sewing, and crafting. She also devoted her time to volunteer work; volunteering for organizations such as "Meals on Wheels."
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Martha; and her husband, John. She is survived by her four children; Kevin Donahue and wife Jennifer, Janet Keegan and husband Mike, Patrick Donahue, and Therese Donahue; her grandchildren, Thomas & Marie Donahue, and Bridget & Braden Keegan; her brother, Fred Harold Bixler, Jr. and wife Phyllis; her nieces, Karen Bixler & Linda Arnold and husband Dan; and her nephew, Michael Bixler and wife Beth.
Martha will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was a loving mother and beloved grandma. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Alzheimers Association, 3846 W. 75th Street, Prairie Village, KS 66208.


The Rosary will be prayed at 9:30am.
