Martha J. Bryan, age 95, passed away peacefully at home with family. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, 75th and Main, Kansas City. Interment will be following the Mass at 1:00 pm, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Boonville, MO.
She was born in Sedalia, Missouri to Ottelia and Wilbert Bryan. Martha was the oldest, along with her twin sister, in a family of five girls. She was preceded in death by her twin, Mary Bryan Ford, in 2019, and her middle sister, Noretta “Sug” Bryan Thiel, who passed away January 1, 2025. Martha is survived by her younger twin sisters, Doloris Campbell - Kansas City and Doris Eagle - Raytown. Martha also has numerous nieces and nephews throughout the country, as well as numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
The majority of her life was lived in Boonville, Missouri, and then in her last ten years, living in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from SS Peter & Paul Catholic School (Boonville, MO) in 1947. From there, she took a position with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where she worked until her retirement at the age of 47. When she retired, she supported her mother and father until their deaths. Martha enjoyed good conversations, social lunches, music, watching sports, and traveling with friends and family. Martha had a quick wit, kind heart, bright smile, and beautiful eyes.
