Mary Ann Shields (Turner) Minx (90) born May 25, 1924 in St. Louis, Mo., passed away Tuesday April 28th at home. Raised in Ladue, Mo, she graduated from Clayton HS and while at the University of Missouri (Columbia), she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and was Barnwarming Queen of 1945. There, she met her future husband, Cliff Minx. Married in April of 1946, the family moved to Kansas City, MO in May of 1959. She completed her degree in education at Avila College at the age of 50 and taught school in the Kansas City Missouri School District. Her interest in family genealogy eventually led her to become a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Cliff Minx, her father, Guy A. Turner, mother Mary Wetzel (Shields) Turner and brother, Jim Turner. She is survived by her seven children, 26 grandchildren & 16 great-grandchildren. Her humor and zest for life will be sorely missed by all who loved her. Services on Saturday, May 9th, 2015 at 11:30 am, Red Bridge United Methodist Church, 636 East 117th Street, K.C., MO 64131. Private interment at Floral Hills East Cemetery. As an alternative to flowers, donations can be made to the Red Bridge United Methodist Church in Mary Anns name.
