Mary Ann Collins

Mary Ann Collins, 89, of Overland Park, KS passed away on November 12, 2024. Mary Ann was born May 3, 1935, in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of Opal and Gerald Scalise. Mary Ann met and married Elmore “Gil” Collins on a lovely day on October 23, 1954. 

She is survived by her husband Elmore “Gil” Collins, son Greg Collins and wife Karen Case, sister Jeri Nunez, brother-in-law Ronnie Pardekooper, and nieces & nephews. 

 Mary Ann loved being around people and meeting new ones; she also wanted to include many people during special times. She had a great love for life and enjoyed having fun! Mary Ann owned her own business, Pewter Collection for 10 years at Bannister Mall in Kansas City. She served for many years at a volunteer at St. Joseph’s Gift Shop. Mary Ann was also an avid and loyal Chiefs fan. 

 In honoring her memory, a visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Wednesday November 20, followed by a Catholic Mass at 11:00 am, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 14251 Nall Ave., Leawood, KS 66223. The interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, KS.

 The family would like to thank the health care providers at Overland Park Regional Medical Center for their excellent and compassionate care.

 Mary Ann will be greatly missed by so many people whose lives she touched!
