Mary ‘Dianne’ (Sheeley) Harrison, 88, passed away peacefully on Nov. 11, 2023 from complications brought on by dementia. Dianne was born on March 20, 1935 to Michael and Anna (Glynn) Sheeley. Dianne was the oldest of their nine children.
Dianne married Harry Harrison on May 7, 1955. They had four children.
Dianne is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son, Paul Harrison, brothers Tom, Jim, John, Pat, Richard, and Lawrence Sheeley.
Dianne is survived by her daughters Theresa (Mark) Frank, Sarah Harrison; son, John (Penny) Harrison; grandchildren Jake Frank, Emily (Matthew) Curry, Kate (Keith) Kennedy, Graham (Brianna) Harrison, Clare Harrison, and Paul Harrison; great-grandchildren William, James, Alice, Walter, Cecily, and Gilbert Curry, Genevieve and Resi Kennedy, and Fiona Harrison; sisters Maurine Gardner, Margaret (John) Psilopoulos, sisters-in-law Carol Sheeley and Cathy Sheeley and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Dianne was a graduate of Lillis High School. She worked as a telephone operator for General Hospital and Lakeside Hospital. She was a receptionist at BC Christopher securities, and retired from the Diocese of Kansas City St. Joseph where she worked in the Mission office. In retirement she was an active library volunteer at Hawthorn Elementary for 10 years. In her free time she enjoyed making ceramics, knitting, crocheting, quilting, and reading. One of her greatest joys was celebrating the 4th of July. Her specialty dishes were mac and cheese and homemade ice cream. She loved spending time with family and if there was a baby around, she made sure she spent time giving them as many snuggles as possible.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Thursday, November 16, at St. Patrick Catholic Church 1357 NE 42nd Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64116. Visitation 10-11 a.m. before Mass.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Missions office Diocese of Kansas City St. Joseph or Platte Senior Services.
