Mary L. Stauch passed away Monday, April 27, 2015 at the John Knox Center Hospice. She was born on January 22, 1920 in Kansas City, Missouri, and was raised in Visitation Parish. Mary was the fourth daughter of Carl T. and Josephine Schroeger Stauch. Mary attended Loretto Academy and graduated in 1940. She then attended and graduated from St. Teresas Junior College, now Avila University. Mary enjoyed the company of close friends which included Mary Theresa Kleecan McMahon, Helen Gardner Lonnie, Jane and Frances McCabe, and Betty Ross. In the late 1940s, Mary was offered the opportunity by TWA to be transferred to New York City. She worked in the Legal Department of TWA. Mary enjoyed traveling all over the world with some of her closest friends. Mary also loved reading, in particular, All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot. In 1982, Mary retired from TWA and returned to Kansas City. She enjoyed lunches and dinners with friends, weddings and other holiday functions with family. Mary is predeceased by her parents; Carl Stauch (1961) and Josephine Schroeger Stauch (1956), sisters; Freda Stauch Bowes (2009), Josephine Lindsay (1971) and Betty Hoffman (1981), and brother; Ted Stauch (1981). Marys faith and perseverance guided and sustained her throughout her life. Mary will be missed by her surviving nieces and nephews; Betsy Bowes Wooden, Hiltch Lindsay, Jim Bowes, Margy Stauch Sparks, Chuck Stauch, Mary Bowes Buchanan and Anne Stauch Olson. Mary also had several great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews who will all miss her. A visitation for Mary will take place at St. Elizabeths Catholic Church, 75th and Main, on Saturday, May 9th at 9:00 AM with Mass of Christian Burial starting at 10:00 AM. Inurnment will follow at Calvary-Forest Hill Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army. Marys favorite colors were pastel pink and blue.
