Mary Lee Grant

Mary Lee Grant, 95, died peacefully August 14, 2015 at Vitas Hospice. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2015 followed by a prayer service at 11 a.m. at Muehlebach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost Ave., KCMO. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Vitas Hospice of KC who made her last days as comfortable as possible.Mary Lee was born August 16, 1919 in Butler, MO to Grover Jesse Carroll and Mary Hortense Carroll (Walker). After high school she moved to Kansas City and worked at the Forum Cafeteria where she met her future husband, Bernard. She worked at Penney's for 20 years after raising her children and was a member of Christ the King Parish for 70 years.Mary Lee loved sewing and crafts, and enjoyed traveling across the US and Europe with her husband, sisters, and daughter but especially liked Oregon and Ireland.She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years and by six of her seven siblings. She is survived by her son; James Grant of Shawnee, KS, daughter; Carol Grant of Tampa, FL, and her sister; Jeanette Jennings of Butler, MO.
