Mary Looney, 82 years old, of Kansas City passed away on April 14, 2023. She was born on August 15, 1940, on the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, to John and Rachel Nickerson. She attended Hogan High School and St. Teresa’s Academy. She married her sweetheart, Jack Looney in 1959. They loved each other for a wonderful 57 years.

She leaves 5 children: Chris Looney, Susan Perez, John Looney, Sweet boy Pat and Maria Looney and Rachel Donovan. She leaves her best friend, her loyal kitty, Misty May. She was the best grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. They loved her dearly. Her daily companion and caregiver, Beth, was such a gift to her in the last couple of years, she truly was an angel. KC Hospice was amazing to her. She loved her family at Brookdale. She enjoyed playing Kings in the Corner, spending time with Misty and grandkids, and going to Mix ‘n Mingle with her friends.

Mary was a woman of faith strongly devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She was also a trailblazer in many ways! Her passion for running, tennis, gardening, and golf were admirable to many. And her sense of style and fashion were truly iconic.

Services will be held at St. Thomas More on April 24th. Visitation at 11:00 a.m., Rosary 12:30 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Scleroderma Foundation at national.scleroderma.org
