Michael Joseph Dulle

Michael Joseph Dulle, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, 17, 2024, at his residence. Born in Kansas City, Kansas, on May 27, 1940, he was the son of Lawrence and Ruth Dulle. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his brother David, and his sister Judy.

Mike Dulle attended St. Peters Grade School in Kansas City, Kansas and graduated from Bishop Ward High School, class of 1958. He immediately joined the Navy and flew p2 during the Cuban crisis. He always liked to say he had “hand to hand” combat with the Russians as he was the observation officer on the plane. After serving in the Navy, Michael pursued his education at Donnelley College in Kansas City Kansas receiving an Associate Degree. He then transferred to Pittsburg State College in Pittsburg Kansas where he received his Accounting Degree. He married Sue Scott on October 22, 1966 and they shared a loving marriage that lasted for 58 wonderful years. Together they raised three sons, Scott, Hugh, and Edward, nurturing them with love and guidance.

Mike worked his way through college by working for the Santa Fe Railroad and upon graduating from college joined the US Department of Agriculture where he spent 25 years until he retired. After retirement he worked temporary accounting jobs.

His passion for family extended beyond academics and career as he became an active participant in his sons' lives and assisted in raising one of his Grandsons. He coached their sports teams and engaging in various community activities such as Scouts and Troops 150, 59, and 459. Michael also had a keen interest in woodworking and model training, sharing these hobbies with his family.

In addition to his wife Sue, Michael is survived by his three sons, Scott, Hugh, and Edward, as well as daughters-in-laws Michelle Dulle and Jamie Dulle. He leaves behind a legacy of love and memories in his nine cherished grandchildren: Joshua, Michael, Andrew, Mackinzie, Cooper, Bridget, James, Thomas, and Kaitlyn And four great-grandchildren; Aiden, Adaline, Lowell and Alexander (A.J.)

The Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. followed by a visitation in honor of Michael at St. Elizabeth Catholic Parish, located at 2 E. 75th Street in Kansas City, Missouri, on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Leavenworth National Cemetery in a private committal service with military honors in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Michael Joseph Dulle will be remembered for his devotion to family, his contributions to the community, and his unwavering spirit. His legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him. The family requests no flowers but donations in his memory at St Elizabeth’s or your favorite charity.
