Michael E. Murphy, Jr., born on August 20, 1969, in Elmhurst Illinois, passed away at his home in Mesa, Arizona, on January 23, 2025. He was a hard-working member of the plumbing industry, where he applied his skills with both expertise and passion throughout his career.
Michael served honorably in the military, where he developed a strong sense of discipline and commitment that would carry through to all aspects of his life. His contributions to his field and community reflected the values he held dear and instilled in his work ethic.
Throughout his life, Michael was cherished by his family and friends. Anyone who knew Mike “Murph” knew he was everyone's friend. He was caring, loving, and saw the good in others. Murph had the biggest heart. He was a very faith-filled, and a devout Catholic. He was a true Irishman with an ornery, fun-loving personality. He loved and adored his daughter Molly and was always so proud of his Irish girl.
He is survived by his loving daughter Molly Schumm of Prairie Village, KS and brother Bill Murphy and family of Pennsylvania. Michael’s parents, Michael Sr. and Margaret (Fitzhugh) Murphy, and his sister Lisa (Murphy) Miller preceded him in death, leaving behind memories of love and guidance that shaped the man he became.
