Nancy Jean Grabmiller, 68, of Mission Viejo, California, passed away on August 3rd, 2021, from complications of pneumonia.
Nancy was born on March 5th, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri to Sorrels and Luella Ellis. She received her Business Administration degree from the University of Missouri in Kansas City in 1975. On January 3, 1981, she married Phillip Alexander Grabmiller her husband of 40 years. They raised two sons, Alexander Theodore Grabmiller, a software developer, in Raleigh, North Carolina and Andrew Walter Grabmiller, a current student at the University of Baltimores physician assistant program and living in Annapolis Maryland.
Nancy had a passion for raising her sons, art, painting, kids activities & programs, and decorating. She was an active church member at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Lake Forest, California where she was a classroom assistant, kids daycare administrator and church council secretary. One of her favorite volunteer roles was kitchen duty for soup night where she could socialize and assist. She was always the last one cleaning dishes at the end of the night.
Nancy was exceptionally brave, courageous, and was the embodiment of strength as she battled a life of various medical conditions. Despite the impact this had, her smile continued to shine on through it all, as did her natural kindness and thoughtfulness of others. She had a passion for life and for helping others in every way that she could. The powerful impact she had on the lives of those around her will forever be felt and remembered.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sorrel, and her mother Luella. She is survived by her husband Phil, her two sons Alexander and Andrew, her sisters Sharon and Kathleen several cousins, nephew, and a niece. There will be a viewing Wednesday evening at 6:30PM to 7:30PM at the Calvary Lutheran Church, 7500 Oak Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64114. And a funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021, 10AM at the same location. Following will be the burial at Park Lawn Cemetery.
