Nellie M. May

Nellie May, 94, passed away on January 27, 2023. She was the daughter of Blaine Keithley and Rose Keithley. She was born on May 11, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri. Her mother remarried Ray Nordeen. He adopted Nellie. Her family nickname was Patty.

She graduated from Southwest High School. Then she went on to college at Kansas University. Nellie graduated with a degree in Sociology. She was a member of Alpha Omicron PI Sorority.

In December of 1948, she married Guy May. Later, she went to work for Commerce Bank in Kansas City, Missouri where she was employed for 40 years and retired in 2008.

Nellie is preceded in death by her parents; previous husband, Guy May; and granddaughter, Melanie Holmes.

She is survived by her sons; Zachary May (Donna); Mark May (Sandra) of Raymore, Missouri; sister, Margaret Senter Pratt of Prairie Village, Kansas; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Interment will be at Mount Washington Cemetery, Independence. Missouri. A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
