Nicholas J. Santoro, 74, passed away June 13, 2016. A private, family service was held at Muehlebach Funeral Home, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery.Nicholas was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended St. Peter's Catholic School and Rockhurst High School. He graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, and attended graduate school at the University of Missouri, Columbia. He was also a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. Following service with the United States Army in Europe, Nicholas spent a number of years in financial operations management with the Federal Reserve Bank, The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, and Farm and Home Savings Bank, all in Kansas City, Missouri. In recent years, he devoted much of his time to researching American history and maintaining and preserving historical archives. He is also the author of several books.Nicholas was preceded in death by his father, Ralph R. Santoro and his mother, Fannie M. Pizzichino Santoro. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Machovec Santoro of the home and three sons; Ralph (fiance Bonnie), Paul (Staci), and Mark, three grandchildren; Austin (Kyle), Tyler (Amanda), and Shelby, sister, Josephine Gloria Nigro, and numerous nieces and nephews.
