Patricia 'Pat' Marie Ismert

Patricia Marie Ismert, 92, of Climax Springs, MO went to be with the Lord on August 2nd 2016 at Lake Regional Medical Center in the presence of her family. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Friday August 5th followed by Mass at 11 a.m. at Visitation Church, 5141 Main St, Kansas City, MO 64113. Interment will be held at Highland Park Cemetery. Patricia was born October 16, 1922 in Elma, Washington, the daughter of Joseph and Helen Collins. When she was 9 her family traveled to Candle, Alaska. At 13, since there was no high school in Candle, she moved back to Seattle and graduated from Foster High School. She got appendicitis and the stitches got infected. Went back to Candle to recuperate, however she returned to Seattle the next fall and enrolled at the University of Washington. Patricia received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in the Spring of 1945. Her and Cornelius "Bud" Ismert met in Washington and got married in Nome, Alaska on Valentines Day 1947 and moved to Kansas City. They were married over 50- years. She had 8 children and continued to work in nursing until her husbands death in 1998. She worked over 50 years in Nursing. Patricia was an excellent cook. Her recipes are still used by her children and grandchildren. She loved knitting baby blankets for her great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Cornelius Ismert and daughter Adrian Ismert. She is survived by her brother Joe and Yvonne Collins, four sons, John Ismert, Neil Ismert, James Ismert and Andre Ismert and three daughters, Mary Komoroski and husband James Komoroski, Theresa Cassidy and husband James Cassidy and CeCe and husband James Kissick III, and very many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
