Patrick W. Gorman

Patrick Wayne Gorman 87, a Kansas City native, passed away April 18, 2017. He was born to Grace (Willoughby) and Thomas Gorman on Oct 7, 1929. He resided in Hawaii, Arizona, and Florida prior to retiring in the Kansas City area.
Patrick, an accomplished artist, studied art at the Kansas City Art Institute and received many honors for his paintings including the Heritage Art Exhibition and the B.M.A. 60th Anniversary Exhibition of Western Art. Due to his love of horses, he was featured on a segment of a PBS Education Series.
Oil was his primary medium with an emphasis on contemporary western scenes of desert landscapes, mountains, canyons and wildlife. His paintings have been exhibited in many respected Art Galleries throughout the country and can be found in numerous private and corporate collections.
He served in the United States Army, 1951-1953, and in the United States Navy Reserves, 1953-1955. He proudly flew the US flag to express his deep patriotism.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, Leo, Frank, Thomas, Kenneth, Daniel; a sister, Evelyn and his loving life partner, Bill Copeland. He is survived by his sister, Sally Spurlock of Raytown and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Patrick will be held at the Muehlebach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost, KCMO, on Saturday April 22, 10 AM to noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Alzheimer's Association Heart of America, 3846 West 75th Street, Prairie Village, KS 66208.
