Paul (Russ) Daly, age 91, passed away May 8, 2021. Russ was born January 19, 1930 in St. Joseph Missouri to Paul and Merydith Daly. He was employed with Cargill Inc. for 42 years, beginning his career in 1950 in Sioux City, Iowa. Russ was in the US Army and served for two years mostly in Alaska. He married Loa Peters in April 1953. They lived in Beatrice, Nebraska, Parkville, Missouri, Plainview, Texas, Ft. Worth, Texas, Houston, Texas, Wayzata, Minnesota, Kansas City, Missouri and in retirement in Angel Fire, New Mexico and Albuquerque, New Mexico moving back to Kansas City in 2015. Russ is survived by his wife Loa, children Catherine (Bill) Stephens, David (Eileen) Daly, Trich (Chris) Schultz and Patrick Daly, grandchildren Chris Stephens, Kelly Haggerty, Christine Lyons, Peter Daly and five great grandchildren. Sisters Joan Rigg, Susan Haxton and brothers Dan Daly and Mark (Linda) Daly. Russ was preceded in death by sisters Patricia Hultgren and Margo Tighe, brother Timothy and granddaughter Amy Stephens. Russ leaves a legacy of being a friend to everyone he met, as his mischievous sense of humor was infectious. He was a loving son, caring father, and a natural and successful leader who yet remained humble and down to earth. Those of us who follow in his footsteps will keep his example in our hearts. A private Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Kansas City. The family would like to sincerely thank all the dedicated people at St. Lukes Hospice for their excellent care and the wonderful staff of Townsend Place for their ongoing love and support.
