Pearl L. Cavender

Pearl Luetta Cavender, age 84, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at the Olathe Medical Center Hospice House. A Visitation will be held for Pearl on Monday, June 19th from 10:00 11:00 a.m. at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. The graveside service will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Pearl was born on September 22, 1932 in Cairo, Illinois, to Rose Geneva (Lewis) Gentry and Everett Albert Gentry. She married Joseph William Cavender on January 13, 1949. Pearl was a loving wife and mother. She cared about everyone that came into her life, and she treated everyone as family. She eagerly offered to feed you as soon as you would walk in the door, and she enjoyed big family celebrations.She was preceded in death by her parents, Rose Geneva and Everett Albert; husband, Joseph William Cavender; sister, LaWanda Davis; and her four brothers, Everett, Eddie, Wayne, and Charles Gentry. Pearl is survived by her children; daughter, Vickie Haynes; and sons, James (Karen) Cavender, Joseph (Cheryl) Cavender, John (Linda) Cavender, and David (Michelle) Cavender. She is also survived by her thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation to the Olathe Medical Center Hospice House, 15310 South Marion Street, Olathe, Kansas 66061.
