Peter Rockey Edsall

August 19, 1983 — August 17, 2024

Kansas City, MO

Our beloved son, Peter Edsall, unexpectedly passed away on August 17, 2024, finally giving in to his internal struggles.

Peter was born 40 years ago to Dennis Edsall and Amy Gier Edsall. He is survived by his parents, his brother, Andrew (Carolina), and his sister, Abby, as well as his devoted feline friends - Mr. Buttersworth and Muffin.

Peter was always lost in a book or drawing in a sketchpad. He was a gentle soul, quiet yet witty, a smile that was saved for a select few, gentle eyes and a giving spirit. He was an asset to any trivia team, could assemble just about anything, particularly building complicated Lego sets and the ever present transformers. He was an avid consumer of all things Marvel Universe since childhood and had recently reread all of X Men. He loved drawing his other people’s favorite heroes for them, as well as creating handmade cartoon stuffed animals for the children of his friends.

He worked many jobs in several different industries. At Foo's and Oak 63, he formed his lifelong friendships that became his second family. His other favorites though, were working on remodels and renovations for two years which utilized his skills in building and assembling. He spent his last two summers baking at a private club on a lake in northern Wisconsin where he could reflect on his creative side and live in the peace that always eluded him as an adult. We hope that he has finally found that peace.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 7, at Muehlebach Funeral Care Chapel, 6800 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO, 64131 from 10:00 AM - 11:15 AM followed by a rosary. A private celebration of life will be held for his family and close friends that evening.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the KC Pet Project or Habitat for Humanity.
