Peter Michael Gromowsky

January 19, 1968 — January 9, 2015

"This quiet heart, so large, holds the world entire,

in all its darkest suffering, and wholly blinding grace."

Our loving son, brother, grandson, husband, and father, bound by today?s world, full in his love of family, while forever lost in the secrets of history, Peter Michael Gromowsky has claimed his rightful place in the story of our kind. Peter was born January 19, 1968 at St. Mary?s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended both Christ the King and St. Thomas More Grade Schools, before graduating from Rockhurst High School in 1986. He further attended Creighton University and Louisiana State University before earning degrees in Political Science and History from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, graduating with a Juris Doctorate.

In 1996 Peter began his career in Kansas City as a law clerk under Judge John O?Malley, where he met his future wife, Betsy. After two years, he was hired as an Assistant Jackson County Prosecutor, where he helped initiate the Veteran?s Court, and was proud to serve as the Prosecutor for the Drug Court. Peter is survived by his parents, Sam and Mary Gromowsky of Kansas City, his wife Betsy, his beautiful daughter, Olivia, and the animals he held so dear to his heart in Lee?s Summit. He is further survived by his brothers: Steven, his wife Aimee, and their three children; John, his wife Stacy, and their three children; and Sam III, all of Kansas City. Peter was also greatly loved by his extended family of Grandparents, Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins throughout the United States.

"My Dad helped coach the Blue Springs Girls Softball Association Tigers from 2004-2009. He was always the loudest and longest cheerer on the bleachers. He was my teacher. He always let me sing or shout the words to every song on the radio. No matter how loud or annoying I was, he didn?t care. He always stood by my side and listened to me. He believed in me when I didn?t believe in myself. He really liked the song, Golden Slumbers by the Beatles. He always put everyone before himself without even thinking about it. He found the humor in things, and never missed an opportunity to get a laugh out of you."

Forever and Always, Olivia
