Ray Stilley, 47, of Kansas City, KS died unexpectedly on February 26th, 2015 from a brain injury. Ray was born in Manhattan, Ks and grew up in Garden City and Gladstone. He was a graduate of Oak Park High School.
Ray managed roller skating rinks in Manhattan and Garden City and, after moving to the Kansas City area he worked in the hotel industry and was a customer service rep at SkillPath Seminars. Several illnesses and injuries partially disabled him in later years.
Ray was a Past Chancellor of the Knights of Pythias, Sicilian Lodge 39 in Independence. Pythian services will be conducted at the funeral and cemetery.
Ray was immensely grateful to the Duchesne Clinic and to K. U. Medical Center for their wonderful care and treatment the last few years and he would appreciate donations to either of them.
Ray is survived by his mother Theresa Stilley of Lathrop, Mo., his partner and best friend of 30 years Chuck Morris of the home and his maternal grandfather John Rieck of Gladstone, as well as his treasured aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Everett and Virginia Stilley and his maternal grandmother Lois Rieck.
Ray?s friends will remember him as the guy who would always cheer you up and to whom no one was a stranger.
A celebration of Ray?s life will be on Friday, March 6th at Muehlebach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Service at 11:00 with inurnment immediately following at Forest Hill Cemetery.
