Regina Steinbacher passed away on March 28, 2015 at the age of 102. She was born on February 26, 1913, in Atchison, KS, the fifth of eight children born to James and Mary Theresa (Geiger) Spellman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, her daughter Janet, and her infant great grandson, Ryan Kopp. Regina and Tom were married Sept. 4, 1943 at St. Francis Xavier Church and were longtime members there. Regina was an avid reader and scrabble player. She bought her first new car at the age of 88 and had her ears pierced when she turned 100.
She is survived by two daughters; Margaret Hare (Pat) and Rita Kopp (Terry), eleven grandchildren; Matt, Kelly, Megan, Jill, Tony, Katie, Jeff, Greg, Courtney, Shelly, and Sean, and 17 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Bonnie McQuillen for her many years of care and devotion to our Mother.
Visitation will be April 6th from 10-11 am followed by the Mass at Church of the Nativity, Leawood, KS. There will be a luncheon immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Matthew?s Ministry in care of Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe, Leawood, KS 66224.
