Robert Porembski, age 86, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away at his residence April 4, 2022. Robert was born June 15, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of Henry and Jean Porembski.
Robert graduated from Harrison High School before continuing on with his college education at Loyola University and the University of Illinois. Robert also served as a Sergeant in the Unites States Army prior to college.
Robert held various sales positions during his career. He was a successful businessman due to not only his talent and devotion, but also because he was a man that never met a stranger. He could talk to anyone. An attribute that clearly helped him become so successful as a salesman and businessman. Robert was gregarious. He always had a joke to tell (good or bad). Roberts giving and generous heart will be one of the many things his family and friends will miss about him.
Robert enjoyed working and staying busy, but he also liked to relax. Besides spending time with his family, he found joy in his time-off to go "boating" or maybe going with friends for a round of golf. Robert also kept busy with the organizations he belonged to. He held the position of Exalted Ruler of the Elks. He was also a member of the VFW as well as belonging to the Shriners fraternity.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Jean; his sisters Henrietta Twarok and Gerri Geraci. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Rosemary Porembski; his sons Michael, Brian and Greg (wife Vanessa) Porembski; Allison Porembski (previous wife of Brian); Wendy Porembski (previous wife of Michael); Grandchildren: Carly, Lauren, Sophie, Sydney and Gage.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, Missouri. Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. followed by a visitation from 9:45 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be held privately at a later date.
The family is having a lunch immediately following the service at The Elks Lodge, 515 E. 99th Street Kansas City, Missouri 64131.
