Rosie J. Burns

Rosie J. Burns, 95, passed away December 10th, 2022. Visitation will be held from 9-10 am Friday, December 16th at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4101 E. 105th Terr, Kansas City, MO followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Interment will be at Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Catherine of Siena Church.

Rosie was born November 21st, 1927, in Jackson County to Richard C. and Mary Clare VanDeVyvere. She retired as a supervisor for the Department of Agriculture.

Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Burns; a daughter, Carol Wixom; two sisters, Catherine Reutter and Anna Mildred Sheffer. She is survived by her son, Michael Burns; granddaughter, Shelby Lynn Burns; two great grandchildren; a brother, John C. VanDevyvere; sisters, Margaret Gouger and Ruth Simpson; nieces and nephews.
