Sarah was born to Edward and Mary Kizer August 8, 1943 in Erin, Tennesee. Sarah graduated from Burt High School in Clarksville, Tennessee. In 1963, Sarah and her daughter (Angie) moved to Oakland, California where she worked for Pittney Bowes Corporation. In 1964, she met John Allen and in 1967 they were joined in holy matrimony. Unto this union, Sarah and John were blessed with 3 sons; D. Andre, Rahsaan, and John Jr.
Sarah worked for JC Penny as a supervisor in the cafeteria. In 1983, they relocated to Overland Park, Kansas after the GM plant John worked in Fremont, California closed. Sarah worked for Taco Bell Corporation as well as a part-time job for Big Lots until her retirement.
She enjoyed life spending time with her children, both natural and adopted, as well as her grandchildren. Often-times spending hours cooking for the family because that is what she loved to do. We will miss the Gumbo, fish frys, hot water cornbread, macaroni and cheese... oh yea and her potato salad and cole slaw.
Sarah was preceded in death by John, her parents (Mary and Edward Kizer) two sisters (Willie Mary Talley Eatmon and Louise Kizer), two brothers (Johnny and Edward Kizer Jr.), she leaves behind four children; Angela "Angie" Kizer of Overland Park, KS and John Allen Jr. of Overland Park, KS. 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, two brothers, Rodney and Gilbert Kizer, two sisters, Ramona Kizer and Frances Thomas, all of Erin, TN, two aunts, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
