Shawn Michael Arthur

Shawn Michael Arthur, 40, passed away on February 25, 2017, at his home in New Orleans. Visitation will be held at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish (4313 SW State Route 7, Blue Springs, MO 64014) from 6-8pm Friday, March 10th with the rosary being recited at 7:30pm. Funeral services with Catholic mass will also be held at St. Roberts on Saturday, March 11th at 10:30am followed by a private burial at St. Munchin Catholic Cemetery in Cameron, MO.
Shawn was born November 12, 1976, the son of Bob and Linda Arthur, in St. Joseph, MO. He spent the first 8 years of his life in Cameron, MO before moving to Lees Summit, MO. Shawn attended his first 3 years of high school at Archbishop OHara and graduated from Raytown South. Shawn excelled in wrestling, representing the state of MO at the USA Junior National Wresting Championships for 4 years. He went on to wrestle in college at Kemper Military Academy. Shawn was a certified water technician and worked in restoration for 14 years, accumulating many other restoration certifications. He was a dedicated K-State fan and belonged to many model train clubs as a passionate hobby.
Shawn was preceded in death by his grandparents Bob and Ila Arthur and Junior Brady. He is survived by his parents Bob and Linda Arthur, younger brothers Travis and Ryan Arthur, sister-in-law Kristina Arthur, nephew Hudson Patrick Arthur, grandmother Betty Brady and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Shawn was a devoted son and big brother. He was the first of 13 grandchildren so family has always been important to him. Those who knew him best knew how hard working, caring and loyal he was. He will be dearly missed.
