Shirley Ann (Stasi) Sanders was born May, 24, 1931 to Angelo and Catherine (Mulhearn) Stasi. Mom died Sunday, May 3, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.Visitation will be at Christ the King Church, 8510 Wornall Rd, KCMO, on Thursday, May 7, from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 6:00 pm. Burial at Mount Olivet, Friday, May 8, at 11:30 am.Mom and Dad, Norman O. Sanders, high school sweethearts, married May 9, 1953 and were blessed with 5 children.Preceding her in death were her beloved husband of 55 years, Norman (2008), her eldest son, Craig, (2010), her parents, brother, Joe (Buddy) Stasi, and many extended family and friends.To fondly remember and forever miss Mom are her children, Debra and Greg McCarty, Pat Sanders, Brian Sanders, and Stacy and Steve Duncan; grandchildren, John (Carrie), Matthew (Melissa), and Jennifer McCarty, Connor Duncan and Catherine Duncan; great grandchildren Sarah, Neal, and Tommy McCarty. Mom also leaves two sisters, Louise Donegan and Marietta (Mike) Oliver, sister-in-law Madeline Stasi, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.Mom lived her entire life in Kansas City Missouri. She graduated from St. Aloysius High School and attended St. Mary's college, followed by nine years at BMA.Mom was a dedicated volunteer at Children's Mercy Hospital for over 20 years, where she made many wonderful friends. She was active in Ladies of Charity, and a strong supporter of her children's schools and activities. You could find mom as a member of the Parents Club at Bishop O'Hara or Rockhurst High School, PTA at St. Elizabeth and Christ the King, or sitting in the bleachers watching sports or the drill team. She was always there to support us.Mom was the best and we will forever miss her. She did it her way up to the end with a blessed journey to reunite with Dad and Craig.The family would like to thank Hearts at Home and Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care; and a special thanks to mom's sister, Marietta, for all her unending support.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care or Children's Mercy Hospital.
