Sister Mary Annette Schorman, CSJ, 84, died Sunday, January 31, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospice House. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 6 at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, 4101 E. 105th Terrace, KCMO at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.Sr. Mary Annette was born in St. Louis, MO to Joseph and Anne (Cloonan) Schorman on August 31, 1931. After graduation from high school she chose the business world as her first career. In February, 1955, she joined the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. She received a BA degree in Elementary Education from Fontbonne College in 1967. Her teaching assignments included several schools in St. Louis. In 1976 she became pastoral associate at the Keshena Reservation in Wisconsin. In 1989 she was appointed administrative assistant and manager of the Redemptorist Retirement Home in Kansas City. Ten years later she initiated CSJ Home Care in KCMO until her retirement in 2006. Since then she has continued being a caregiver to the local Sisters through her prayer and availability. Preceding S. Mary Annette in death are her parents and her four siblings, Eddie, Joe, Florence and Bob. Survivors include her nieces, nephews, special friends, and her Sisters of St. Joseph whom she never ceased to thank for their companionship and guidance.Memorials can be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, KC Mission Advancement Office, 11901 Wornall Rd., KCMO 64145.
