Stephen Lee Eifler, age 71, of Kansas City, passed away on January 28, 2025, at Advent Health in Shawnee Mission, KS. Stephen lived in the Kansas City area his entire life. He was born in Houston, TX, with cerebral palsey and this affected the normal use of his legs throughout his life. After the early death of his father, he and his mother lived together in mid-town Kansas City until her passing.
Stephen was very independent. He wanted to live his own life without relying on others for help. He relocated to an apartment in the plaza area and found work at The Classic Cup restaurant where he met his future wife, Debbie. They were married at the Country Club Church on the Plaza on September 21, 2000, and lived in an apartment on the plaza. Stephen’s hobby was cooking. He loved to impress his wife and others with his culinary skills. He got a good prep job at The Plaza III restaurant by way of the owner which lasted 15 years until the business closed. Stephen found food prep work at two other plaza restaurants lasting three years.
Life changed for Stephen when he fell and broke one of his hips. His disability with his legs was more of a burden. Stephen didn’t like change and this soon left to his and Debbie’s divorce.
Stephen leaves behind his ex-wife, Debbie of Ferdona, KS; two brothers, Larry of Phrae, Thailand, and Michael of Overland Park, KS; along with several cousins and nephews. Stephen had no children of his own.
