Tommasina Aida (Belmonte) Beil (July 3, 1940 – July 27, 2024).
Tommasina (“Sina”) Aida Beil of the Kansas City area, was joyfully reunited with her beloved husband David after passing peacefully on July 27, 2024 in her bed. As a junior at Oak Park High School, she met and fell in love with her loving and faithful husband of 63 years, David, who passed on just four short months ago. Their union produced five children, William (Desiree) Beil, Lisa (Kevin) O’Connor, Beth Anne (David) Deutsch, John (Lindsey) Beil, and Nicholas (Ashley) Beil, 13 grandchildren Rachel (Phil) Hartwell, Hannah (Grant) Dalbey, Andrew (Ciara) Beil, Lillian (Blake) Edwards; Neil O’Connor; Henry, Marcus, and Audrey Deutsch; Zachary, Luke, and Logan Beil; and Jordan and Ava Beil; and 7 great-grandchildren (Rebecca, Johnathan & Lydia Hartwell; Charles & Margaret Dalbey; and Amelia & Charlotte Beil). She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Nancy Belmonte; by her brothers, Ben (Idalo), William, and Larry Belmonte; and tragically, by her beloved grandson, Henry Deutsch. Sina was the beloved daughter in law of the late Larry and Florence Beil, dear sister in law to the late Delores Belmonte, Roz Belmonte, the late Bob and Donna Beil, Frank (deceased) and Carolyn Beil, and the late Marilyn Beil. She also leaves a collection of beloved friends too numerous to be named.
Sina was devoted to God and her Catholic faith which she held fast her entire life, while at the same time honoring and respecting people of all faiths and traditions. She was strong, resilient, determined, and fearless in the face of hardship and tragedy that would have crushed most, undoubtedly buoyed by her prayer life and unwavering faith in God. She was a devoted wife and life partner to her husband David, running a household of five young children while he was on the road providing a living for them. As a mother, she saw the gifts and talents in each of her five children, calling them out through words of encouragement, understanding, and discipline. She was a beautiful woman and always carried herself with dignity, class, and style.
Sina loved others in many ways, but especially through her cuisine. The feasts she prepared were legendary, a talent and gift she inherited from her mother. Cooking for her was not a chore, it was an art. Watching her operate in the kitchen was like watching a conductor conducting a symphony. She poured her heart and soul into every dish which was expertly prepared, perfectly balanced, and presented with love. Whether it was whipping something up late at night with whatever was left in the fridge for her kids and their friends hanging out at the Beil house, or preparing a holiday meal or formal dinner party, those she served left her table amazed and satisfied. Sina lovingly passed on her passion for cooking to her children and grandchildren, most of whom have taken up her mantle aspiring to come close to her level of excellence. She will be forever remembered, and greatly missed by those of us whom she loved so well.
