Treva Irene (Glancy) Hutchison, 90, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Monday, December 29, 2014 at Delmar Gardens of Overland Park. Treva was born in Jefferson, Iowa, on August 23, 1924. The daughter of John Elliott Glancy and Rose Alma (Sailor) Glancy. As an infant, she and her family moved to Fort Morgan, CO. She graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1942. She became a Christian in high school. She journeyed alone to Liberty, MO to attend William Jewell College, feeling a calling to special mission work. She met and married Victor Eugene Hutchison after two terms of Biblical Studies at Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, KS. Her mother and two sisters also decided to move to the region.
While raising three daughters, Treva and her husband were active in their church; she continued her interest in missions, special offerings and projects. After her daughters were grown, Treva worked as a knowledgeable sales clerk in the House of Fabrics for 4 years; she had first-hand experience making dresses for her daughters.
She is survived by her husband Victor "Gene" Hutchison of KCMO; her children, Dawn Hearn of KCMO, Cynthia Rice of Bolivar, MO, and Terry Anderson of KCMO; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one sister, Jean Damron of Warrensburg, MO; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her sister, Wilma on December 5, 2011.
Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3 at Muehlebach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost Ave, KCMO; followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Armour Heights Baptist Church, 7900 Jarboe, KCMO 64114-2157.
