Ubaldo “Mike” Porras 80 Grain Valley, MO 5/16/1944 – 03/04/2025

Ubaldo “Mike” Porras, passed away on March 4, 2025, at the age of 80 surrounded by loved ones at the time of his passing.

Services honoring Mike’s life will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Muehlebach Funeral Home 6800 Troost Avenue, KCMO 64131. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am, followed by funeral at noon, and gravesite burial at 12:45.

Mike was born on May 16, 1944, in Primera, Texas to Regules and Ignacia Porras. He spent his early years in South Texas where he developed a passion for learning and a great love of family. Mike was the oldest of 12 children and was a pillar to his siblings.

He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, Texas and entered the United States Air Force. He served in the air force from 1964-1968. After his service, he began a career in the technology and electronics industry at a Kansas City local company King Radio, he then moved on to join the team at Hewlett Packard where he enjoyed a lifelong career as a systems engineer.

Mike was a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He cherished spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Denise Deck-Porras, his children: Andrea Ciotti (Anthony), Jason Porras, Aaron Deck (Lana), 7 grandchildren: Jason, Jonus, Gabriella, Jacob, Talia, Zander, and Antonio. 1 great grandson: Aries and 8 siblings: Marcie, Mary Elida, Lucy, Tish, Erlinda, Laurie, Robert, and Ruben as well as many dear friends, colleagues, and extended family members.

In his free time, Mike enjoyed reading, working on genealogy projects, researching on the computer, fishing, and taking road trips. His generosity, sense of humor, and love for others will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Regules and Ignacia Porras, his siblings: Dominic, Leo, and Lydia, and 1st wife: Mary Porras-Hidir.
