Virginia Rose Brown, 84, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on December 13, 2024. Rose was born on June 3, 1940, to Martha and Herb Lock in Carrollton, Missouri. She was one of eight children. In 1959, Rose met Robert “Bob” Brown Jr. Rose and Bob went on to have 5 children, Micheal, James, Mark, Jeffery, and Julie. Rose was a devoted mother and grandmother, she attended every sporting event, recital, sacrament, and graduation. She travelled extensively, including Ireland, Italy, Germany, and saw all fifty states. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and was very active in the St. Regis community. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, reading, and watching football, and she was known for her red velvet cakes. Rose was preceded in death by her infant brother, William, father, Herb Lock, father-in-law, Robert Brown Sr., mother-in-law, Mary Brown, mother, Martha Lock, and her brother in laws, Jack Colbern and Don Feitz. She is survived by her husband, Bob, her siblings, Mary Anne Colbern, Jim (Maggie) Lock, Jerry (Carolyn) Lock, Sam (Harriet) Lock, Don (Sharon) Lock, Jeanne (Dennis) Crass, and Linda Feitz, her children, Mike (Lisa) Brown, J.R. (Kristen) Brown, Mark (Stacy) Brown, Jeff (Michelle) Brown, and Julie (Michael) Sterl, and her grandchildren, R.J., Issac, David, Jerrod, Maria, Georgia, Annaliese, Lizzie, Molly, Julia, Parker, Gus, and Ella. Services will be held at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church on December 18. Visitation is from 9:30 to 11:00 am and Mass will begin at 11:00. Burial date is to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Regis Academy.
