William James "Jim" Wheeling

Jim Wheeling, 83, of Kansas City, MO passed away August 30, 2023. Visitation will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 6th followed by Mass at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church, 130 NW Murray Rd., Lee’s Summit, Missouri 64081.

Jim was born November 9^th, 1939 in Cleveland Ohio son of Donald and Helen Wheeling. After serving his country in the United States Air Force he settled down in Kansas City where he met, fell in love, and married his wife, Donna Wheeling. They attended St. Matthews the Apostle Catholic Church and was a member there for 40 years where he volunteered on the Art & Environment committee with his wife. Jim was a Kansas City Royals and Chiefs fan. He loved all things NASA and was an avid collector of memorabilia from the early space program. Jim loved all things Disney and enjoyed going to all the theme parks with his wife.  He collected Disney Pins which he proudly displayed on hats of all kinds, people loved seeing him with his hats on, they would bring a smile to your face.  He enjoyed feeding the squirrels and the birds in the morning from the front porch.  He loved traveling with his wife, they loved going on their annual trip to Florida every year where Jim grew up as a child. He loved long walks on the beach with his wife of 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Jimmy Wheeling.  He is survived by his wife Donna and many family and friends.
