William Orville "Bud" Baker Jr., 85, of Kanas City, MO passed away June 23rd, 2020. Due to current travel and gathering restrictions, a memorial service will be planned at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Bethel congregation of the Community of Christ Church, 8510 Leavenworth Rd., Kansas City, KS 66109.
William was born on May 26, 1935 to William and Mildred Baker. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church for many decades and held the office of Priest. Before beginning his 35+ year career as a Letter Carrier with the United States Postal Service, Bud spent time in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant where he received a commendation as a Sharpshooter, as well as being awarded a Good Conduct medal.
William was a gentle and loving minister, husband, father, grandfather and uncle that was preceded in death by his parents, all siblings and his spouse of 53 years, Marcia S. Baker, upon her death in 2011. William is survived by sons William V. (Independence, MO) and Brian J. Baker (Kapolei, HI), daughters-in-law Kay (Taylor) and Melanie (Hillers), two grandchildren, Nicole and Barry Baker, in-laws Linda and George Conner (Casper, WY) and many nieces and nephews.
